Other surrounding areas include rural communities outside of the Silver City corridor such as Tyrone, Cliff/Gila and the Mimbres Valley.
These unincorporated areas have different personalities. Tyrone was once the town-site for Kennecott Mine. It is one of the few tract-home style communities in the area. The Cliff community sits alongside the Gila River and features a number of smaller residential enclaves. The Mimbres Valley runs from as far south as Faywood and as far north as the famed Gila Cliff Dwellings. Here you will find ranch houses next to log cabins next to manufactured housing.
